-----2024----I tried to hitchhike from here, there's an area where cars can stop, but not many people stop. After 3 hours, a car finally stopped on the motorway to let me in;
I strongly recommend taking a train out of Thessaloniki.

Maybe in the tourist season it's better but at this time there is very little traffic. People also can in lot of different directions. We where trying to get to Kavala. But. We where waiting so long that we just settled with a ride to Tessalonikki.―Anonymous
