It’s not really a spot I would recommend. Quiet little traffic and no good spot to stand or hang around. I decided for the Gasstation at the beginning of the stop. Sitting/ standing next to the entrance. Quiet frustrating to wait 4h. Was about to give up but then a lovely Hungarian Coupple took me all the way to Budapest. If your there: don’t give up! Talk to people and make a sign. Gasstation is open 24h. To stand at the entrance or exit didn’t work for me, but try it. Started at 13:00 with nearly no cars at the Gasstation. Got picked up at 17:00 with more traffic coming.

I waited two hours but it was a low traffic day and eventually there was some works on the gas station. Definitely the best place to go west ! Got a ride to Leipzig. If you really want to go to Germany it's completely doable there's a lot of Germans. Actually more than Austrians haha. But you have to talk to them. I waited almost two hours at the exit of the gas station then I decided to talk directly to the gas station and I was offered also a ride by a bus driver for free to Graz at the same moment I asked Hungarian couple with a dutch plate, they were going at the North of Holland but we agree to let them drop me at Leipzig. Perfect spot for finding a ride. We just stood with signs right in front of the exit from the parking. Really good for Vienna/Bratislava/Győr direction. We got a very funny ride. The story is not shareable for safety and legal reasons, but it would make a good chapter in traveling book.―Michal

First we were trying to find a ride at KFC exit, right next to the highway entrance. Looked like a good spot, but nobody stopped, maybe it was because the Mol gas station was closed. Definitely would be easier if it was opened. Then we change to this bus stop and we got a ride in less than 10 minutes.―Michal

Great spot, lots of trucks, after 10 minutes of waving our thumbs, we were already in the truck straight to Budapest―marlena

We have waited at the resting stop for a little bit, but there were only truckers going to sleep after their shift. Once every 10 minutes one car came, but they didn’t want to give us a ride, or they couldn’t. Then I went 400 meters into the highway and tried to signal the cars to stop at the stop with the sign in hand. It’s alright spot, because almost every single car going by goes at least around or through Budapest.

Probably the best spot for hitchhiking from Budapest towards Vienna/Bratislava/Prague, you have to take a train from Budapest city centre and then a 3 km walk to get here though. Used thumbs up and sign Wien/Bratislava, snatched a ride after like 90 minutes (2 people), a single seat ride was offered to us after like 30 minutes.―slavomirScholz

Ask the people from the gas station. The drop off was at the outlet center where the M1 and M0 separate. A good spot where you can take public transport to the city.―Maxpet
