Safe option : wait right on the round about exit.Risky one : go down to the main road. There is a safe extra lane, but still a "small high way". We did the risky option because there was a big traffic jam, so cars were totally stopped at this point. We got a ride in no time.

Very safe and easy accès from the city centre by bus. But it's quite next to the city, so drivers have too many directions. Someone picked us to bring us 10km further on the N22 to a useful but a bit dangerous spot.―Anonymous

Just at the exit of the town, so cars don't go fast, and it's very easy to access. Lot of directions possible for drivers, though! It worked really great for us (less than 5min!), but I don't know if it will be like that often. There is not much space for stopping, so pick your spot well !―Anonymous

Good spot for access to food/restrooms, petrol station owners very friendly. Waited for 90 minutes no cars stopped. Albeit raining and dusk―Anonymous

Very good place for direction Macroom, Killarney. Take the bus from the University College to the last station. Ask the driver for the way to the national road. He has to go there anyway and might take you a little further than the last station.―Anonymous

These traffic lights are a good spot to get out of Cork at. Lots of traffic going to Mallow etc.―Anonymous

Ask around for lifts towards Dublin or Waterford at the two petrol stations that are here. Most traffic will at least head to the roundabout where the motorway to Dublin starts.―Anonymous

Amazing spot for catching lifts to Dublin - cars are slow as they are just coming out of the roundabout, and there is a huge hard shoulder to pull over into. It's now a motorway, so you might possibly be doing something illegal, though.―Anonymous
