signed for dublin and got lucky with a lift quickly. seems like a good spot at first because drivers can see you from across the crossroads but cars are driving too fast here from the dual carriage way to slow safely, and cars turning from the perpendicular roads are mostly locals. try after the roundabout on the motorway or at the traffic lights before the clinic to the south.―Leslie

so you want to stand behind the sign for enfield and kilcock as opposed to dublin. people take this road to dublin to avoid the tolls on the m4. drivers are a lot more likely to pick you and you meet nicer people on the R148 than trying to hitch onto the motorway.―Leslie
