Not sure what was wrong with this place, probably bad luck. Station is well placed people stops there but most of them do not want to give us a ride. Some folks was going to Florence. We ware trying to get a hike in Rome direction it was very problematic We catch it after 7h of waiting

Gas station, I manage to hitchhike from Tor Vergata to this place. You can enter from back.

Very good spot, I got ride to Napoli quite quickly (23-25 min). I wrote "Napoli" in a big paper.

We (boy and girl) spend extremely long period of time here. At the same time the first and last car which stopped took us almost to Sicilia. Thus, it seems that it is still the only option to do a long trip from Roma considering Italian awful autostop.

I put my opinion here too. I had some good adrenaline to run towards the fence, but it would've been very hard if we couldn't get to that spot. The gas station is a main key to get out of Roma to go south. (I add those useless information but that was meaningful to me during my trip : lived the 19th July 2010, day of my twenty years old)

I eventually tried this spot. I had to wait about 45 minutes, for a 300 km ride, and I would say for italian standard is not too bad. The gas station is not huge, but it was quite crowded (it was holiday)

I used again this point and in 15 minutes I got a ride to Napoli. Now to enter there is an hole in the fence, you have to pull it up from the ground

To go South: this is the first gas station on the highway connecting Rome to the A1 highway going south. It's still inside the city, so very easy to reach, but it's already on the highway. There is a fence on the back but if you look trough some bushes where a little building is, the fence is broken and easy to climb. Go to Anagnina station either by metro or by bus (it's one of the biggest terminal in Rome) take the bus 046and stop at "carnevale lettere", the gas station is only 400 m away. Walk back for a few meters cross the road and turn right on via cavaglieri, and then the first left, and at the end of the street there is the gas station. there are also other buses going around the area (500, 504...) just use the route planner of public transport to see what's the best for you

Got a ride out of rome within a few seconds. I went towards germany and got a ride to Firenze.

Just talk to the drivers that bring their family members of friends to the airport. They also might pick up their friends. It is a very good spot.

The spot itself is very good, as there's a lot of room for cars to pull over, on both directions.
The problem is Italian people being not confident at all with hitchhiking. Anyway, I got a ride to Velletri by a Romanian car after 10 minutes waiting.

Very crowded train station. If you happen to come here by train, you can easily get a ride to the surrounding towns. So many cars drop off people at the train station and then go back where they came from, and people getting off trains just go home by car. There's a train going every 15 mins.

It is still possible to climb the fence. Close to the entrance to the gas station there is a small building where the fence is a bit broken (maybe because of the hitchhikers who climbed it...) The small building helps you to climb. After that the second driver that i asked gave me a lift to Napoli.

It’s probably a great place if you're being left there by a car, at the gas station.
If you’re trying to get to it from outside, it is NOT a safe place. Drivers are pretty much crazy here and the visibility is limited. The places mentioned before were repaired, probably, cause we decided that it’s too dangerous to try climbing that little wall on the left.

I got a ride to Rome after 20 minutes. In the meantime, another guy going to Avezzano stopped as well.
Not great for cars to pull over, but traffic is heavy and relatively slow.
