Indeed very good spot, space for cars on a parking right after, but most of all there can be a lot of traffic, so cars are very slow.Gives you enough time to charm them with smiles ;)

Not easy to go to this place, but when you go through the field it is a quite fine spot to go to Milan from nearby villages. We had a sign Milano. A guy took us to a metro station, by metro we went to the southern part of Milano to Romolo station and continued to Genova from there.―TwoThumbsTravel

you can get here pretty easily by bus and walking 10min but the walk is a bit sketchy at the side of the road. the italians were not very friendly and there was not as much traffic as expected. we were looking for a ride to como. lots of cars were going to varese. we didn't have any hope left but then someone took us all the way to zurich and even recommended a sleeping spot.―meowcrew

Mi sukcesis alivesti min parolante kun alia aŭto, kiu haltis ĝuste ĉe la elirejo, sed ĉar mi sciis, ke ili havas problemojn kun petveturantoj, mi atendis, ke ili foriru por provi sur la vojo, kio daŭris horojn... tamen, dum ili estis tie, mi provis de la alia flanko de la stacidomo diskrete demandi homojn. Estis malfacile kiam du policaj aŭtoj alvenis kaj staris ĉe kontraŭaj flankoj; ŝajnis, ke ili nur atendis petveturantojn. Mi kredas, ke la antaŭa stacidomo estus pli bona laŭ la priskriboj. Sed ĝi funkciis; mi ricevis veturon al Germanio, kio multe helpis min, ĉar mi iris al la Eŭropa Ĉielarka Festivalo en Belgio.Artista paro veturigis min. Ili dormis en Svislando, en la montoj ĉe la domo de kelkaj amikoj, kaj ĉi tiuj amikoj ankaŭ akceptis min tie por dormi kaj ankaŭ dum la mateno, kiam ni faris artajn agadojn kune.

Great spot, people see you from afar. If there are no cars in the parking spot for dropping of goods you are good. Someone stopped when i put the sign up instantly.―Tijmen

Amazing spot. People were asking us where we want to go while we were writing signs. Waited with the signs „Luzern“, „Gotthard“ and „Italy“ for around 40min and got a lift all the way to Como, Italy.―Liva

Duane place for trucks.Lots of trucks going up to Germany!You can get there after border check on Switzerland side (50m N) to a trap that leads you down under the highway. There jump fast over the street and you see the trucks!―Anonymous

This is a fantastic place to be generally, it's easy to talk to hundreds of lorry driver in a short span of time since all drivers have to get off their lorry and do something with some of their documents.The downside is that after 20mins a civil servant came up to me and told me to leave. After some negotiation I was allowed another 20mins before I would have to leave. So do try to stay out of sight (as in behind the lorries).

Got a ride to Milano in 5 minutes and a ride to Bellinzona in about an hour. Good place for both directions. Give a smile to the station attendants so they wont bother you.―Simonkfr

The toll post between Italy and Switzerland. Steady flow of slow traffic and plenty of place for cars to stop. No trucks though.Tried this on an early Sunday morning coming from Italy to SUI, wait time 1h15. I don't understand why someone gave it a red "senseless" rating.

after 5 minutes I and my girlfriend were going on petrol station after Lugano. Not best place to wait with sign, but good to ask people. First couple I asked took us―Anonymous

we waited 20 minutes and got a ride to mendrisio, from a girl who often picks up hitchhikers.however, if you get a short ride, i would recommend declining and staying in this spot.

We got a ride pretty fast (a traffic jam before the border) to Switzerland from a Swiss guy (the only Swiss ever that has given us a ride)... You can ask at the gas station AND still have the sign/thumb up―Thejourneyramino
