Very close to bus station (lots of local buses stop there) there are 2 petrol station and a round-about. I was asked for a lift not even pointing out my thumb!!―Anonymous

People do see you and there is a lay by for people to pull over. However many persons just go in town or for some reason not really keen on getting you in. I finally got a ride after more than an hour of waiting, which brought me to Lecce my final destination but by then (~1h30 of waiting) I actually had decided to take the bus since the sun was hard....Hitchhiking in East - South Italy doesn't seem to be great :(
