Got lucky that some workers were opening the gate as soon as I got to the station. Not sure if access is possible otherwise. No sign, asking people directly. Most foreigners were down but usually had full cars, a couple of Italians on their way to Vicenza dropped me off in Bologna.

We were heading to Firenze and one guy took us into his sport Alfa Romeo and drop us to the city centre.

Autogrill on the A1, lots of traffic going south to Rome and beyond. Other side should be good for getting north past Firenze. See Firenze page for details on how to get here. Got a ride, a home cooked meal, and a free pair a jeans!

From Firenze to Antella you can go with the bus 31-32. From Antella you can get to the other side of the motorway through the Autogrill bridge-restaurant/shop. There is good traffic. In every minutes at least one car goes back to the motorway. It's good, because there is a patrol station and a restaurant too. But one problem that almost in every car sat old Italian people who don't trust in strangers. Though we are a couple dressed well, nobody stopped us, and when we went to people to ask them, sometimes they lokked at us like we were the Satan. And when we just stayed at the end with the table, almost nobody smiled at us like in other countries. So we gave up after 3-4 hours.

Waited quite a long time (with my bike); there's not too much traffic, but a fair amount of the traffic has foreign license plates. Nice olive fields just outside the gates for camping.
