Good spot, lot of cars afternoon going to Venice or Trieste direction. We (couple) had a sign Venice/Verona and a young guy took us directly to Padova to the centre and bought us a drink afterwards.―TwoThumbsTravel

Quite lot of cars going to Venice direction to highway. Not the best spot but still the option. We (2) had a sign Venice/Verona. People at least waving on us.―TwoThumbsTravel

Super lucky found Czech guys (we are also Czech) they were going home and so were we.Other than that it’s a pretty crowded gas station. I believe it would be no problem to get a car in less than 1hr.

Unfortunate and bad at the same time. We walked ( 2 guys) from Mestre/Venice to get a ride to Udine/Palmanova. When we arrived 1 cars was freshly robbed! Police came told us that we cant stop cars. For about 2 hours we waited till the police left. Then we tried to asked drivers on the petrol station but the staff told us that we can do it only next to the entrance ir near to the shop next to the petrol station. So we devided one took a sign and went to the exit to take cars from petrol station and one tried to ask people that went to the shop. so after 3,5 hours we got a ride to better place, however from that place most of the cars to Venice and not to Palmanova/Udine. If you can, avoid this petrol station. It had bit sketchy vibe + most of the poeple werent very nice/ lot of city locals. Altought it wasnt very good place to stop, there are plenty of truck drivers, if you going alone, try your luck!―Anonymous

Small Toll Booth with enough space for cars to stop. Highway straight to Venice/Padova and further on..―Anonymous

I went to France (Aubagne). I arrived here in the evening. I waited about 2-3 hours. On the guardrail you can see writings from hitchikers. A Romanian truck driver with Italian number plate took me to Brescia.Franciaországba mentem Aubagne-ba Este sötétben érkeztem, és 2-3 órát vártam. A szalagkorláton vannak stopposoktól feliratok. Egy olasz rendszámos román sofőr vett fel.

Great spot, lots of traffic which has room to slow down and pick you up. You can get a ride on the local roads when being modest with the distane travelled quite quickly. We were going to the west.―llev

Firstly, I was hitchhiking behind the toll station, and one of the workers even smiled at me and gave me a wave. In only 10 minutes, a few cars stopped for me, but they were all going towards Venice. Then another worker came and made me leave (he seemed upset). I later returned and hitchhiked about 20 meters before the toll station and in 30 minutes, a lot of cars stopped, but again, they were all going to Venice. Then the upset worker returned and made me leave again, so I took a train instead. This spot can work if you're going to Venice, as a lot of cars stopped, but the workers do make it a bit unreliable.
