Pretty easy to access by bus, better to go on the other side and cross the auto grill bridge to access the spot since the other side is pretty fenced off from a big auto shop
Makings of a great spot but
Waited a long time, a lot of old people and family’s did not make it easy, after 90mins got a ride to Brescia

Many people going through the station but many for Milano.
I wanted to do past the city towards Verona. Got a ride quickly to Bergamo with the hope of going further east.
No sign needed in my case, easy to talk to people at the pump or on their way out.
Bathroom accessible for free and lots of shade.

Good spot to go to Milan, because there are two direct ways. And it is just one way from the gas station for all the traffic. We (couple) had a sign Milan.

We were little lucky that one truck took us straight to Milano. This is a good spot even for trucks to stop.

Direction Venezia - Brescia
Don't loose your time to go there from the center of Milano. It's dangerous, drivers go fast, and you will wait hours.

an ESSO petrol station right on autobahn (autostrada, motorway) A4 BRESCIA-MILANO- TORINO. you can reach the station through the commercial area (north of the station) in walking a circle (westward) around some of the manufacturing halls, there is a swing door that connects the station's platform with the surrounding roads (street: "via aquileia") of the quarter. ATM-tram number 31 takes you from the city center to the corner "via monfalcone/via massimo gorki" from where you can walk to the station in 5 to 7 minutes. i have not hitchhiked from there but will do so next week (on a MILANO-TORINO trip), the spot seems to be excellent because of its safe surrounding, many cars passing by also easy accesibility. there is also a restaurant and a snack shop.

Station is in course of a renovation, but is open. Not very popular, many drivers are going to Milano.
Went out in a direction of Venice within an hour

We waited there for 3h and no one took us with a sign to Torino. Really bad spot in my opinion

It's very easy to reach! when you turn right at the bridge continue to walk you ll find an open door (07-2014)! but keep in mind there's a new highway that connects Milan to Brescia directly without passing to Bergamo! it's faster but this spot should still working good!

somewhat bad place for me (headed to Genova), it took a while to talk my way into a ride, around 1:30 hours in the mid day, but with help of the station workers I got a ride to just south of Milano to a gas station

It´s a good place but the problem is that most of the cars are going to MIlano.I was there about 75 mins. I asked every single car that arrived there and then got a lift to Verona. The spot is worth trying, esy to find and if you get lucky a truck may take you far away

This is the 2nd spot described at the "East towards Verona" section of the "Milano" hitchwiki page (http://hitchwiki.org/en/Milan). The directions to get here are the following:

"An alternative and easier option is to take the metro (green line) to Cologno Nord. It doesn't really matter which exit you leave the station by, as long as you are walking north. Follow the road for about 5 or 10 minutes until you get to the beginning of the bridge over the motorway. Rather than actually crossing the bridge, you turn right, off the road, and walk along the raised grassy area beside the motorway. After 4 or 5 minutes you will have reached a gas station."

I followed them and got there with no problems whatsoever. Even though it's a small place and not too many cars or trucks stop there, I got a lift in about 30 minutes!

You can reach this Petrol station from Gessate the last stop of Metro 2 Green Line and after that walking and arrive there without walking on highway check the map( but you can lost easily if you don't have a map so i advice the spot on cologno nord, easier to reach) it's full of cars and foreigner trucks i found a ride asking to truck-drivers after 5 minutes!!

A good spot to go south (A1). Take the metro to Cascina Gobba, then walk to the gas station (you'll see it behind the metro station). I got a lift in 10 minutes asking truck drivers
