For 2026 update, less trucks as it used to be, but there's still quite some of them, almost all of them will be going to Russia, usually to Zilupe border so try to talk with the drivers and most likely they'll get you to Daugavpils or Rezekne ringroads or if u head further east (Ludza or Russia) you can go with them all the way―estohiker

Towards LV, Daugavpils, the border is amazing. Due to the current events most of the lorries are headed on A13 to one of the Russian border points, which means that every lorry gets inspected by the border guards. Due to that all the normal cars that do use this crossing drive super slow, get stuck behind manouvering lorries etc, therefore they have super good visibility on you when u stand on the border, wait times of 5-20 minutes expected, most likely first personal car with any space will give you a lift to Daugavpils the least―estohiker

Small bus stop towards Latvian border, little traffic and the bus stop does get local busses, whose driver was nice enough to get me a bit closer to the border, generally doable, main factor is just little traffic and quite some lithuanian cars still go to the nearby villages, wait times of 10-40 minutes expected―estohiker
