Great spot since it's in front of the on ramp if you want to go north. Not much space to stop but usually french people are not afraid of stopping in a sketchy situation.―Anonymous

Fantastic spot to get to Belgium but be careful when walked from the Capellen station, there was a fence and closed gate. It was not an easy climb.―verdederos

A lot of cars with Belgian or Dutch license plates so might be easier to go there. I was trying to go towards Trier and got a ride from an Irish guy on British license plates who said he would take me there but when we started riding he said some story about being robbed and asked if I could take out money with my card for him and that he would transfer me the money, after I showed him I had just 20€ on my account he left me at central station in Luxembourg City and said he'll go to the bank and come back later. Waited half an hour, he never came back so I decided to move on.―Kivvish

Waited with a sign for Lyon and after 5 minutes a truck driver stopped and took me as far as Luxembourg even letting me sleep on the bunk bed in the cab.―Kivvish

Great spot with loads of traffic. If you're getting here via Berchem station and want to cross the bridge, don't trust google maps. Had to take the long way to the gas station.Luckily didn't take too long to get a ride. Legend drove me all the way to Chambéry

A pretty long walk out of town (~4 km, can *partly* use Bus 7) Used several times. It is possible to get a direct ride to Brussels.About 10km from this place there is a big petrol station, 'Aire de Capellen', you might want to get a sign to get there!

A lot of cars from Arlon (Belgium) travel every day to Luxembourg city :)) Just go to the highway out of town or to the old road connecting the two cities :)―Anonymous

Big petrol station with plenty of traffic to B and NL. You get here by taking the train to Capellen (4th stop from Luxembourg station), a short walk and an easy climb over a fence.―Anonymous

For those who stay at the camping Kockelschauer and want to save some change on public transport - hitching at the nearby bus stop worked perfect for me, got a lift to the city centre within literally one minute.―Anonymous

Great place. After about an hour (it was raining that day) on a Sunday afternoon I got a lift from a man heading to Besançon―HHSardo

I waited there around 12h because I was looking for only cars going far away (near Lyon). Many people offer us (me & my friend) to bring us 100 or 200 km in the south.Good tip : ask for trucks (trucks are forbidden every Sundays in France)

I took the train till Berchem station from Luxemburg central, then walked for 20min till the Service Area, you need to go round it till almost the end where you will see an open gate for trucks and you can enter through it. After that, I waited at the exit from the parking lot, behind the store, for 10 min and got a ride to Dijon. Lots of cars on Sunday morning!―Anonymous
