The cars exiting here are not going to Ipoh, they remain in Penang, thus in order to find a ride over the bridge you must wait further back by the pedestrian bridge and the bus stop.―Crazy abla

It is an industrial area near the airport so, this bridge is mainly used by trucks and cars that come from the airport. The road is relatively new so the traffic flow is not that much. But you can easily stop a car.
If you come from the airport it is about 15 to 20 min walking. If you come from Georgetown you can take a local bus (about 1usd) and get out right before the river and then walk 10 to 15 min.

If you want to go towards Butterworth/ over the bridge you ust wait back here as the cars will be merging into the far right lane. Nevertheless I found a ride within about 15 mins when standing by the bus stop.―Anonymous
