There is no perfect spot for cars to stop, in fact several drivers would have stopped but motioned that they had no room. At times with decent traffic, maybe stand before this roundabout at the last bust stop in Vulcaneşti. However, this spot catches traffic coming from different directions, which is what i needed because it was getting late and there weren’t many cars on the road. Me and Moldovan babushka Anna did the ol’ Double Trouble Bait-and-Switch method, where she stood by the side of road while I sat behind a bush, emerging only when a hapless driver stopped, thinking he was helping out an elderly woman in need, only for that elderly woman to be joined by a smelly, dirt-covered American who could speak than ten words of Russian.
