Like 80% of the people dont go on the highway. Walk further until you reach the highway and position yourself in front of the stop sign for cars that 100% will drive on the highway (low traffic but high success rate i think)

I stood pretty close to the ramp with a sign that had VELES written in the latin alphabet on it. A man stopped and was even able to bring me further than Veles, since I was trying to get to the greece border.

Perfect spot to go to the border (Guevgueliya). Once there, walk one hour, don't wait another lift to the border crossing. Most people are afraid to bring strangers to the checkpoint and by walking you're almost faster than the queue to enter Greece. Just hitchhike after the checkpoint. Thanks to our Turkish Macedonian driver!

Dead spot don't go there ! We waited for two hours. No traffic. Like really no traffic. The only few people that goes to the gas station were living around. We ended up getting a ride to the next toll station which was a blessing. Thanks Oliver!

Gas station and toll booth near Gradsko. We slept near the gas station, there are showers and everything. The toll booth is 1km away where you can easily catch a ride to Greece or Ohrid.

Can also recommend this place! Took the bus #53 (had to get a dayticket for 120 Dinar) to Petrovec (bus takes around 50 minutes from the transportation center), walked to the toll station and right after the toll station I was picked up after a few minutes, under the eyes of a police car haha. Also had a sign which said "Veles".

I did just get out of my last ride, who dropped me of right behind the toll station, and the next ride was literally already waiting for me. I couldn't even put my thumb out. Was brought directly to the border!
