A lot of space, not a lot of traffic, but seems easy. Got taken by a guy that used to hitchhike in the socialist times of Bulgaria. He got me to Kjustendil to a petrol station and immediately found me a ride to Sofia.

The family I hitched a ride the day before invited me to sleep in their house and the day after took me to a very good place towards the border after showing me the local monastery.

Got dropped of at the restaurant a few meters up the road, but it'd be really hard to get a ride from there. There is a straight stretch of street just a hundred meters further which works much better. Got a ride with a family that invited me for lunch and eventually also to stay the night with them. Great people!

the private taxis waiting past the border lied to us saying dont bother, trucks wont pick us up because there was 2 more police checkpoints ahead. there was none.

We hitchhiked there in Skopje direction, on the macedonian side of the border. We waited one hour and a half, there was only one car every 10minutes

Place to hitchhike towards the border with Bulgaria. Visibility is okay, traffic is generally slow here. Place is at the end of a town, where road starts going uphill. Waiting time can be high but most vehicles definitely go to the border and further to Kyustendil
