A guy and a girl on a Tuesday afternoon without a sign. We wanted to go south after leaving the ferry, but you have to wait about 20min for each passage of the ferry, so if you don't get lucky, it's a long wait...Yet, we got a ride in the Party Car at the second ferry !

A guy and a girl on a Tuesday at noon without a sign. A lot of rather slow passage and place for cars to stop. We quickly got a ride to the ferry.―JumpingRabbit

A guy and a girl on a Monday at noon without a sign. This spot is good to go to Ålesund : people going through this road seem to mainly take the ferry. There is enough place to stop and some traffic, but cars go a bit fast here.―JumpingRabbit

A guy and a girl on a Saturday afternoon without a sign. We only waited 1min to get a ride to a small village south of Ålesund. People on this road seem to mainly go to Nordfjordeid or further, there is enough space for cars to stop and they go quite slow due to the roundabout just before.―JumpingRabbit

Asked around on the ferry and got a ride to Moa, couchsurfed with them for the night and then they took me sightseeing the next day to Ålesund.―anettlee17

Direction: out of townThere's a bus stop here right on the main road from town. We heard it's pretty used by hitchhikers. It worked for us pretty well :-)

A fairly grievous encounter with the elements. Tried to hitch as it was getting dark, with around 5 degrees Celsius and pouring rain. Very wet and cold thumb!!! Had to abort mission after an hour of attempting and head to base camp (the tent) for the night. Everybody seemed to be in a rush (something to do with Friday night?) What a relief the next morning when the sun was out. Much better circumstances. Waiting time the next morning was about 25 minutes.―Anonymous

First ride in an electric car WOOHOO!!! Very exciting. It was A BMW i3 (for those interested souls). Taken out of the city, saving the walk. Great talk with the driver about an electric future (he must get that a lot).―Anonymous

Dropped off by previous rider as the ferry came, the cars arriving were quickly coming off the ferry so went straight to this spot and twiddled the thumb with thoughts of great success impending. Within seconds a bass vocalist on his way to a rehearsal in Ålesund came to our rescue.―Anonymous

Got a ride to the ferry, I could go to Oslo with this truck driver. Good spot, better with a sign―Anonymous

Pretty good spot for heading north on the e39, it's a bus stop, so lots of room for people to pull over, and a long road so they can see you from a ways off. Got a ride all the way to ålesund from a boat captain heading home from a stint at sea. Lots of construction further up the road so a fair walk to get there though (July 2023)―Zany

Got picked up by the first car, but I’ve been told there’s a lot of them going on that road, good spot to go to Stryne―Swagg
