Got a car to Pitesti in 30 minutes―Anonymous

Well, it's not entirely true the things you've written here. Maybe it changed. Truck drivers don't want to pick you up there. Even the turkish ones. They are really friendly, but unable to speak english and german, so after a time I've understood the problem. On the border RO/BG there is a "bridge problem" and trucks stay in very, very, very long traffic jam, you'll have to walk there like 15kms, so truck drivers recommend you to try to catch cars, I got really stuck there. I slept there, on the next day some gypsies gave me a lift, but I was scared of them so I walk out of car when the trucks jam began and I walked it on foot anyway.―Propek

This spot is good if you wanna get a direct ride to Turkey or Bulgaria.Virtually all turkish truckdrivers who's going home to Turkey passes through this point. As if that wasn't enough the intersection couldn't be a better place to get a ride. Partly because there are a lot of holes on the road which forces the drivers to slow down a great bit and partly because they have to stop before turning right onto the CB-road.
However it should be added that this is one of those few places that actually requires signs (personally I rarely use them). If you're going to Bulgaria a simple BL will do and if you're going to Turkey a TR-sign always makes the Turkish drivers smile (even when they cant pick you up).
Bear in mind that most trucks leave somewhere between 9 to 12 in the morning so you might wanna be here early. If you do happen to, like me, arrive late and getting stuck for the night you should know that camping in this area is hard (though not completely impossible). One advice is to talk to, Ali, the owner of the turkish restaurant and truck parking. He's a nice person who'll be happy to arrange a safe, if possibly a bit uncomfortable, place to spend the night. In the morning he might try to arrange a ride with the turkish drivers.

strait on the beginning of the highway you can get there with public transportation. usually are stopped cars there and is enough space for 2-3 trucks. it is quite safe, you don't have problems with the police. it is a place for people who commute by hitchhike. if you go to pitesti just rise your thumb. if you go further, make a sign and show especially to trucks they take up to 3 people in the cabin and they go very far. most of the trucks drivers expect money but some of them take people because they get bored.i use this place often and always got luck. less than 15 minutes.

Direction Transilvania, Sibiu, Arad, Serbiafollow the describtion on hitchwiki,
Get the metro to Pacii (note the metro is a bit crazy - if you're not careful the trains change lines without warning and you can end up at Gare Du Nord again!). From Pacii you have to find the main road going west, and go to the first bus stop. Get the first bus that says Carrefour and go all the way to Carrefour shopping centre, this is the start of the motorway.
just walk back a little bit to this bridge, its not that simple to climb up the wall but its makebale also with a heavy backpack.
Then you stand direct on the highway there is enough space for cars and trucks to stopp over! got a lift after 3 minutes to alba Lulia so quite good space!!!

after three minutes the police came and sent me away because it’s apparently forbidden to stand on the side of the highway. they were friendly and i said sorry and asked where it’s okay to hitchhike and they told me just to leave the highway and try it down at the ramp to the highway.―vrdrlndr

We came from Craiova. We were on the toilet and after that we start asking drivers on OMV. It always works. Little bit hard is communication with some drivers, because they do not know english. Thanks.―DOM
