this is a long street that becomes a road to Zajecar as it leads of the town. You can recognize the place as some military ground are on your right, and some industry buildings are across the street.

Visibility is very good and you could stand anywhere you want, as nearly all vehicles that go to Zajecar direction pass here.

Note that you will have to walk a little bit from the center to get here, and if you arrive in Knjazevac from Nis/Svrljig, you better ask the driver not to leave you at the entrance of the town, as then you could walk straight but quite a bit, it took me good 45 minutes in that case.

Low traffic, but people stop to pick you up.
Good for going in direction of Knjaževac and Stara Planina.

Spot to hitchhike back from Babin Zub to villages like Crni vrh or further down to the valley after hiking. Fellow hikers are very nice and pick you up to give you a ride down.

Spot to hitchhike up to Babin Zub, the starting points of many hiking routes, including up to Midzor. Even in offside season, we got picked up quite fast. Not many cars, only other hiking tourists, but they are happy to give you a ride.

Spot to get up into Stara Planina mountains. (Crni vrh village, babin zub) Almost no traffic, but the locals are very nice and helping and you get picked up.

You can just sit there and read a book or so, enjoy the fresh mountain air and every twenty minutes or so when a car comes thumbing.. :) Although this is my experience outside the tourist season. During skiing season or on summer weekends it might be more traffic.
