Nobody picked us up for several hours. The people were very unpleasant. Some even mocked us — they stopped and told us we could go with them, but when we tried to get in, they hit the gas and drove away. After a few more hours we met a couple and asked if they could take us anywhere, just to get us away from there. They gave us a ride a short distance to the town of Lendava.―Simi

After an hour we hitchhiked a kind lady who drove us to the Slovenian border.―Simi

I got dropped off by a driver at this petrol station/rest stop. Used the free toilets and filled my water bottles. Headed to the entrance to the motorway, where I waited for 10 minutes and a kind family headed to Ljubljana, picked me up. There was a decent flow of cars and trucks, it was about 5pm at the time. If you wait with a sign with your destination or just your thumb you should have good luck with hitching from this spot no problems, highly recommended. Also accessible by walking, so it's possible to arrive without a ride 👍―Passports

It's a good spot, but if you arrive late during the day then most truckers are resting so you need to rely on cars. Waited 1,5 hours and then was picked up by a car that took us to Ljubljana.―Chaba

We (a couple) wanted to go to Trieste (Italy). Around 10 pm a Hungarian car that went to Koper (at the Slovenian sea), gave us a lift to Kozina, 15 km from Trieste. If you want to go to Italy and someone says that he just goes to Koper, just go with him to Kozina. It's as near to Koper as near to Italy.―Zaphod

On Thursday, early in the afternoon it was raining. We (two girls) were asking the drivers at the petrol station. After 20 minutes we got a lift to Ljubljana where we were going.Always ask drivers, don't need to stand with a sign, it works better.

It was on the last day of the year, the place was totally empty, BUT luckily I managed to hitch a milk truck towards Hungary, Nagykanizsa. :) I think if the traffic on the motorway is not so busy (as in my case), it is totally okay to hitchhike on the borderline of the parking place and the motorway, it is not dangerous. Good luck!―AdrianB

were brought here by a kind guy that only went to Murska Sobota but took that very useful detour for us. in the first min after getting out we asked a hungarian car with 2 guys that took us over the most tricky part when hh to BP but unfortunately they left at in Nagykanizsa which turned out to be very bad/slow to hh from...―Marcus De

Petrol station. Lots of trucks and cars going all the way to Ljubljana or even further into Italy. There are lots of trucks going the other direction too.―Anonymous

Not very high traffic but there are many cars with Slovene license plates that probably go to Slovenia. If nothing else, you should get a short lift across the border. We got a lift all the ay to Ljubljana. It might also be a good idea to go to the next village where the road 86 is bringing trucks from Slovakia going to Slovenia.―Anonymous

It seemed senseless after a 15 km walk but worked well, just ask the truck drivers around.―Anonymous

We were told that this is a "big town" (it's not!) and really easy to get to Zagreb. DON'T EVER TRY IT! Only local Hungarian and Slovene number plates.―Anonymous

Not the best place to get to Maribor. Probably might be easier to get to Murska Sobota. Might be easy to catch a car to Croatia - plenty of cars with Cakovec number plates.―Anonymous
