Bus stop doesn’t exist anymore, trying to get to Zagreb in the late afternoon. Got a lift after a long time in the sun by the roundavout to the middle of the highway near krsko by a nice old lady who says she will come back in two hours if no one picks me up.

Not much traffic to Croatia, many full cars and families, most going North East, finally got a Swedish couple to take three of us Southish, where I got out at Novo Mesto to try my luck again for Zagreb.

We had best luck! We sat down with a cold drink and put our sign with Croatia on the table. He asked us if we needed to go to Croatia. We said yes and hopped in!

On the way to Belgrade, got a ride to Novska (100 km east of Zagreb) after some 20 minutes, allowing me to avoid the Zagreb ring road.

Not a bad place for heading towards Brecize or Zagreb. The two of us had to wait a while in the heat but eventually a friendly worker from the big shopping complex took us to Brecize.

Brand new petrol station, the place to get out if your ride is going to Novo Mesto and you want to continue on towards Croatia.

Travelling from Ljubljana to Beograd with a friend, we wanted a ride to Zagreb to further hitch from there but actually ended up getting a ride all the way to Beograd! This gas station wasn’t too busy (3pm) but all the people were friendly and we quickly got the ride from 2 Italian guys after asking around for about 10 minutes

We waited in the bus station and someone took us to the entrance of Novo Mesto, really easy to hitchhike in Slovenia. People offer us coffee and drinks in the supermarket :)
