Good spot for going to France!! We had a dog and Two big backpacks. And a older couple took us to Bordeaux and they were ready to take us all the way to Paris! Ask people and write a sign.!―NTKtriohitch

Best spot on my trip yet. Getting there was a bit rough but managable having to go through the Woods and over highway crossing car bridge from the industrial zone. Consider hitching a ride there instead of the bus. But once there i talked to 2 different people. And the second were some portuguese Guys that took me all the way to toulouse at 19:30! It doesnt really get better than that.―JamonWithRamon

Toll station. Go there with a sign. Stand on the side corner of the right lane to be visible for the people going to Donostia. Good spot.―JamonWithRamon

Took me a while but eventually got a ride to the border. Used a sign with "Francia". The traffic lights before this turned out to be better as they were red way more often and had a slighlty better placw to pull over.―VeikkaK

There is a stop Light, where cars nee to stop, so you can throw your thumb out and walk along the cars to wait for a positive reaction. Just by the stoplight is also a big paper bin, where you can take some cardboard from to make a sign. I Made one direction León, (Bilbao, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Burgos). After around 10 Stoplight phases a guy took me to Arrasate/Mondragon near Vitoria.―Anonymous

I waited no longer than 30 mins, lots of traffic and a safe place to stop. I stood just on the ramp that was heading towards Bilbao/Santander/South of Spain. Its only a 15 - 20 minute walk from the bay area―Anonymous

The orientation of traffic has changed. Use spot on other side of the river, near bridge and train tracks.―Jackortega

We came there from San Sebastien, and entered from tolls just 2-3 km ahead and we had a problem with one of the workers he insisted on not to let us and police was there but they didn't care and we went to the other side of the road slept (there is service road very clean and safe for camping) there at night and in the morning 5 am we pass the tolls from side of supermarkets and got a ride in 15 mins (crayz gay surfers who were going to catch the waves of France, best ride ever). You can you use the service road to the gas station but at night lots of dogs on that road (we tried may be 20 dogs on that 2 km road and cows, bulls wow! man it was crayz.)―Astala27

Stood there for half an hour before I was brought to the other sport nearby by a girl who said it wasn't any good. According to her people take other ramps to get on the highway to Bilbao―Kobjak
