It's a calm but still flowing gas station. You get traffic from both directions and some local traffic. Took me almost two hours but many people had full cars or went the other direction.

not much traffic at that time but the first person i talked to, a middle aged belgian man on the way to calpe, alicante, agreed to take me with him. i only asked if he could drop me at the exit oeste in girona and turn back at the traffic circle, instead he insisted to take me to my final destination, some 3 km from the highway inside the city

a romanian trucker offered me a lift. he just started his shift and would have taken me all the way to italy, however i decided to avoid it and headed to slovenia over germany, hence he dropped me on aire de ambrussum

We waited 15 mins before we got a ride to Orlot - good spot for cars to pull over

The best spot in Girona if you want to go to Barcelona or France (Perpinyà).

It's the nearest entrance to the "autopista del Mediterrani" (the highway) from Girona.

well, we came here form Montpellier, its a good place to go to Barcelona, but we got to get to Malgret de Mar from here, next to Blnes, and we waited a long time. but there is a nice place to put a tent (not allowed, but still nice picnic place at the gas station), we get to malgret, with a guy who in a way changed his road to pick us up to maggrat- thanks to him

din't advice people to wait here. I waited at the roundabout but it's not so easy for a car to stop. at the entrance to A2 it took me another hour and then i gave up and went to the gas station, where it took me 15 min to get a ride directly to barcelona

To go to Barcelona, it might be easier to wait on the round about going to the A-2. There is not a lot of place to stop, but there is a little bit more traffic.
I tried both places 3 hours long (half/half), and it finally worked at the spot 200m further

I went even further, all the way to the toll-stations where all the cars going to Barcelona have to pass. I was standing just before them, next to the sign saying that it's forbidden for pedestrians! By the way, it's Girona SUD/South (Sortida 7), it takes like 1 hour to walk to there from the city center.

not sure if the toll gate has changed but there was literally no place for cars to stop, a lunatic eventually took us 30 minutes down the road where we hopped a train to barca

We waited there for 3 hours with a sign FR. Finally a French car took us.

Waited 15min for a lift to Barcelona. Cars are slow due to the toll station. A sign is usefull!
