We as a couple (girl and boy) stood there 15 minutes (around 10:30 am, working day, February 2014). A Romanian (I love them) took us to Tarancón.

Just after cross the bridge the road becomes more wide so the cars can stop. I think this is better here than just after the round (in the same road). Do on your own :)

Possible to thumb both in the slip-road or/and directly on the highway (is it a highway?). The cars don't go fast there and have enough space to stop. They will take you at least to Tarancón.

Very good spot with the fancy gas station!

Got a ride fairly quick, there's enough space for cars to pull off but barely. Gotta be ready to jump in quick. Overall hitchhiking in and around Cuenca seems to work a lot better than the rest of Spain.

In all this area there's a lot of local traffic and people are really willing to help, so you can easily jump from town to town with "Próximo pueblo" sign, thumb up and a good smile. Maybe you get lucky and get a lomger ride, but be fast thinking about the dropp off point, Maps in hand and willing change route or walk to change spot if in 20 min you realize you're not in a good one. Also nice area to share with people and eat good food.

Got lucky and had a longer ride.

Nice area to hitchhike, people are really nice a willing to help. "Dirección Teruel" sign. As it's one single road and local traffic, good to just try reaching next town.

Amazing Cuenca people, lots of drivers stopping and asking if they could help me. "Dirección Teruel" sign. There's just one road towards Teruel with some local traffic, so good thing to just try to reach next town.
