Very low traffic. Tried in horrible weather at both gas stations and then succeeded at the restaurant with a sign. Not the worst spot.―SaintJ

I was trying to hitchhike for around 2 hours without success (another 4 hours at different places along the highway – one guy took me there from Seville, that's it). Tried with a sign and without. Nothing. I really don't recommend hitchhiking in Andalusia. Ask directly someone and in the best case someone with a non-spanish license plate rather.―Anonymous

it was a good spot - within the conditions of Spain - we got picked up in 3 hours, what was our average anyway. although found also a sign left behind an other hitchhiker saying that the spot is fucked up, so you decide.―Etter

only if you ask people in petrol station directly. To this point bus N29. No buses go further, nowhere further to HH.―Ima

Petrol station on the way to Granada - Málaga - Almería (East Andalusia).Metropol Bus can drop you off here: M-121 (Mariana Pineda stop).
Lots of cars stop here, with a bit of Spanish you can get a ride.
"Hitch-hicking in Spain is hard, you have to try speaking with the driver, face-to-face. Most of them will try to help you.

Cars are very slow since they just got out of the parking garage or waited to pick someone up from the airport. The spot is covered by a roof, so there's shadow. There's enough space for cars to take you in as well. You can get there by bus from the city.―Anonymous
