In five minutes two cars stopped. One going towards Boadilla del Monte and one going to Guadalajara. Was trying to go to Madrid, if I had waited a tiny bit more I would have gotten one I think. Solo female, Saturday afternoon.

University. In weekdays within the school year, you'll have people going through all day, to Galapagar, Madrid, Las Rozas, Torrelodones... Forgot my wallet after class and gave it a go, should be easy as long as you look "normal".

I waited here for 2 hours and a half before giving up. It was on a Monday morning so maybe not the best Time to find a car. I tried to go Burgos the spot is ok just before the highway with some space to stop.

the station in good, a decent amount of cars
quite a lot of locals...i was going in direction of caceres and on thursday afternoon (from 3PM ) it took me 3h to find a loft to xanadu, a big shopping centre near by (the guy told me was better from there, and after 3h i just took it)
there, in my opinion, was worse, cus being on the other side of the A5, everyone was going towards madrid
i also tried at the roundabout but with no luck
so i went back here, slept on a tent behind the station (its pretty chill), and next morning, after 1h (10-11AM), i found a lift to the station at the 88km, with a restaurant that seems better
lets see

Tried this spot last january, the only ride i got after a few hours of asking people was to the next gas station! Not recommended...but worth a shot if you have time, esp in the summer. good luck!

It would be better to jump off at Getafe Industrial (see the map)

Getafe Industrial perfect station to reach this gasoline. From station to there you need 15-20 mins walk. don't be late because there is not much traffic. And cars usually don't drive long distance.
Good luck!

You can get to this petrol station (repsol) by public transport+on foot. Get a cercanías (metropolitan train) from Atocha or a metro (around 2 euros), jump of at El Casar. Walk to the east for about 20 minutes.

January 2011 they were building a new neigbourhood, but it was easy to jump the fence and cross without anybody saying anything.

Used a Talavera sign and immediately got picked up by a woman going to Talavera. Of course, then I spent the rest of the day stuck in Talavera... maybe get off at the km48 truck stop next time.

The gas station is very small. We only managed to get a ride to the next gas station close to Móstoles, a short ride that later turned out to be very important. Also managed to get to Lisbon in one day! Speaking to the drivers definitely helps!

After 2 hours of waiting with the sign and asking we gave up and came back to Madrid to take a bus.

i used this spot 4 times, always managed to get to my beautiful Lisbon in the same day. it can take a loooong time to find a ride, but it will work. start early:) you can easily hitch to a next repsol gas station only 2 km further, which is not much better though. for supplies: at the exit of the alto de extremadura metro station there's a fruit/veggies shop that throws away loads of nice food around 9pm. close by there a bakery that can give you nice old bread,croissants...

We were 2 (girl and boy), the girl spoke spanish, so we asked the drivers. We headed to Cuenca. Our driver was third driver we asked and took us to Tarancón.

This station has a lot of local traffic, as it has a car wash and is close to a commercial area. It's best to ask drivers whether they go to Ocana (just a bit further south) and then get dropped at the petrol station in Sesena Nuevo.
