I was two times here. First one i asked two times in 10 minuts and i had a lift to Madrid. But the second one i was waiting 9 hours :S
The most of the cars are from the industrial park below. The most of the trucks are from spain so they don't take hich-hickers because of the new laws. They can have a high fine and even lose their work.

I got stuck here 2,5 hours. Pretty many cars go to Sevilla. I wasnt so lucky to get to Madrid but after desperation and looking hopeless got a ride almost to Madrid with a luxury BMW.

good gas station + cafteria called "abades bailen", I had a cheap lunch and waited at the round about (but also asked at the gas station and cafe), many cars going to Madrid but found one going to Granada after 30mn! Good

Big "arab" gas station. A lot of moroccans and algerian stop there before going to/from Tanger.
Most of the cars are full on the way back and can't help. Not a good idea to hitchhike there.

After a while of thumbing we got a ride to Andujar. There is just enough space so people can pull over and by avoiding the petrol station you also catch traffic from Linares unto the highway. The con is that this traffic is regional.

Girlfriend and I were picked up by the 7th person we spoke to in the autumn and taken 200 km south. Granted he was Bulgarian, but for getting out of a major city this is a fine spot.

It was in the morning, there were really few cars and none of them stopped. I was lucky there was a truck to Madrid so he drive me part of my way.

On an autumn Sunday this was almost only people returning to Madrid and tour busses. We (m+f) asked as many as we could for 3 hours, slept in the olive grove, asked for another hour and then started thumbing. Someone please confirm if this place is haunted by anti-hitchhiking gremlins.

Busy gas station, plenty of people you can ask for a ride.

If you want to go south, this spot is pretty good for this small town. Signal to cars that are exiting the roundabout and those that are already on the highway, doubles your chances!
