Amazing spot. After just about 10 Minutes a couple brought me to San Cugat del Valles. Stand there with a Barcelona sign.

Lots of people offered a ride, but a short one. The fourth one offered to take me to Figueres and I took it.

I was going for a hike on the next town, that's why I stood at the roundabout on the edge of town. It took very little till a car stopped , although the spot is not ideal to pull over. The driver told me it's better to just stand at the gas station, that people do pick you up.

Convenient spot. All cars leaving the station pass by you.
The description on the website for the way to get here from the station is spot on. Took me 20 mins to walk. Had a roller bag with me, no issues, except a 40m dirt path.

Talked to people at the gas station, found someone going to Perpignan almost immediately.

We stood on a gas station without thumb or sign and some nice catalunyan guy asked us where are we going, we told him we need to get to the countryside so we can sleep and he offered to us that he will took us to his home so we can build up a tent on his garden. We were lucky, it was evening and a weekday, Lots of truck drivers and I think it is not the best spot..

Stood there with a sign to smaller town on the coast, but get a ride in direction Barcelona with a funny german guy in caravan.
Mainly locals went here, it was a weekday in the early evening, a boy and a girl

2 people.
We haven’t even finished writing our sign, just randomly waved to some guys. They took us directly to La Jonquera. Seems to be fantastic spot. It is very easy to get there, just use public transportation. We took n23 bus and paid 2,65e for a single ticket. Don’t listen to google maps, you can get to the station by crossing under the bridge. Use satellite from your google maps. Signs saying that camping is forbidden there, but we pitched our tent without any problems. Police even saw us in the morning with a tent. But be careful, maybe we were lucky. We don’t know if it’s safe place or not.
Enjoy your baguette in France 🐸🥖

Amazing if going North from barcelona. It takes about half an hour to get there from barcelona, because of the walk, but once i got there i got a lift VERY quickly and the lift went well into france. INSTRUCTIONS: take cercania (train)
no.2 to Montcada i Reixac (less then 2 euro from BCN-Seints). there
leave the train station to the left side of the driving direction of
the train. this is direction pedestrian zone /city center. go along
the small street til you enter the pedestrian zone (200 m from the
railway station, where you arrived). Turn to the right and walk for
about 400m (you cross the bridge and the river). then on the right
side there is a college. go til you stand under the motorway (200m).
under the motorway is a parking area. on the right side you see a
small road. follow it for 150m til' there comes an undercross for the
rails. on the left side you see the warning: \"dont cross. only for
authorized personal\". just do it and enter this zone. there is a small
way which you follow for 300m. then you arrive the petrol station. THIS WAS SO DAMN COOL. FOUND IT ON A RANDOM SITE. want to share the love

first car stopped after few hours! Very hot weather and no shadows around made it especially exhausting wait.

Tried hitching farther down in Barcelona, but eventually we walked up here and found a ride pretty quickly. Our sign said "VIC" however, as we were not going to France yet. This is the end of Avenue Meridiana, where it turns into the freeway, so there are a lot of cars going long distances. We were 1 guy and 1 girl.

It took me about 30 minutes on a sunday morning in january to get a ride north to a service station about 40 kilometers to the french border - pretty close to barcelona, easy to find and a good spot to head in the direction north

Waited a whopping five hours before getting a lift north to france. Was way too crowded with other hitchhikers. Maybe it's just too popular now, but even when everyone else despaired and went home I still found nobody was stopping for me. bleh
