In five minutes two cars stopped. One going towards Boadilla del Monte and one going to Guadalajara. Was trying to go to Madrid, if I had waited a tiny bit more I would have gotten one I think. Solo female, Saturday afternoon.―friki

University. In weekdays within the school year, you'll have people going through all day, to Galapagar, Madrid, Las Rozas, Torrelodones... Forgot my wallet after class and gave it a go, should be easy as long as you look "normal".―friki

the station in good, a decent amount of carsquite a lot of locals...i was going in direction of caceres and on thursday afternoon (from 3PM ) it took me 3h to find a loft to xanadu, a big shopping centre near by (the guy told me was better from there, and after 3h i just took it)
there, in my opinion, was worse, cus being on the other side of the A5, everyone was going towards madrid
i also tried at the roundabout but with no luck
so i went back here, slept on a tent behind the station (its pretty chill), and next morning, after 1h (10-11AM), i found a lift to the station at the 88km, with a restaurant that seems better
lets see

Used a Talavera sign and immediately got picked up by a woman going to Talavera. Of course, then I spent the rest of the day stuck in Talavera... maybe get off at the km48 truck stop next time.―RobertLangellier

The gas station is very small. We only managed to get a ride to the next gas station close to Móstoles, a short ride that later turned out to be very important. Also managed to get to Lisbon in one day! Speaking to the drivers definitely helps!―Ewelinalucy

i used this spot 4 times, always managed to get to my beautiful Lisbon in the same day. it can take a loooong time to find a ride, but it will work. start early:) you can easily hitch to a next repsol gas station only 2 km further, which is not much better though. for supplies: at the exit of the alto de extremadura metro station there's a fruit/veggies shop that throws away loads of nice food around 9pm. close by there a bakery that can give you nice old bread,croissants...―Ratodoporao

It's located around 18 km from the Alto de Extremadura gas station, so you just need a short ride. After a lot of asking around we found a driver who took us all the way to the border in Badajoz!―Ewelinalucy

Although we were two women, we waited 2 hours (still OK for spanish standards, though) until we got a lift to the next service station. There is a lot of local traffic, so don't carry a sign to a faraway destination!―Laura13

Maybe it was my worst day for hitchhiking in Spain. The gas station is busy but just after 3,5 hours i got short lift to next station in Collado.―Yarex

gas and diesel are too high, too many porches and good cars. we were about 4 hours and we couldn't do it. after that we went from gas station to gas station until we reach a good gas station in Collado Villalba (2 km ahead) in the 42km of A-6 were it was easy to find a ride―Anonymous

I started at this gas station to go to Lisbon in Portugal. It's easy to get here with Metro 6, station Alto de Extremadura.
There are a lot of people, but mainly they stay in Madrid.
Try to get a ride on the A-5 to Km 48, there is a gas station with a restaurant and the probabilities to get somebody going to Portugal are better.
