The exact place is Monumento al Campesino. Any direction of the island is possible. There is a gas station also. Very windy place, put on warm clothes and simply ask the people at the gas station (mostly locals) or stand next to the road. I got a lift to Arecife within 30 mins―Anonymous

Catch Bus 03 from Puerto Carmen to Arecife. It only costs 1,5 Euros. Get off at the bus stop (you will realiye it immediately as there is a street that is leading right next to the highway and going on the highway there. I got a lift to the city within 5 mins and a lift to the north of the island (!!) within 20 mins. That was at around 11am―Anonymous

Lanzarote is not good for hitch hiking. Better do it on a low road than on the highway. Got picked up eventually by germans―LostfulPilgrim
