hard to believe but maybe this is a great spot. no space to pull over rlly but cars stop for the red light so you have some time to charm them with your great sign and pretty smiles.fair amount of traffic and ppl were really friendly - we even got handed a wedge of cheese from a guy waiting at the red light because he was so excited to see hitchhikers.

loads of traffic for switzerland, a lot of people cross the border for work so getting here early you catch commuter traffic to st gallen etc. also a few swiss cars driving by with sg plates, bathroom at the petrol station right behind to refill water and bins filled with cardboard for all your sign making needs :-)―BI

Directly in front of the gate for the first parking lot. It took a little, but it worked out really well (obviously also a bit lucky). You can also try to ask at the parkin lots, people offered us rides but not in the needed direction.―FunkyParrot

I wrote ´ST MARGR´ on my panel, because I would have more chance to approach Germany as I wanted. A guy let me in Bregenz where I found another spot to continue my wayI hadn t to wait to longm maybe I was lucky at that time, ex traveller...

There are many roads around going the same direction (Wintherthur, Zurich) and leading into tunnel so it's hard to choose the proper one. You have to consider on with is the biggest traffic and try to hitch-hike there, the best with a sign. There are a traffic light so cars are going slowly which is good, but there is a lack of a proper place for cars to stop. Anyway, it's possible to stop a car here :)―Anonymous
