I was walking up and hitching a ride with an A3 highway sign and a man stopped, took me to the nearest service station on the highway but before that he fed me a big ass Swiss meal. 🥰―anettlee17

Not a very good spot, as traffic is fast, most of them heading towards Zurich. I had a sign to Sihlbrugg, A man who stopped at the traffic light took me there even though he was heading to the other direction.―anettlee17

Right outside the Cop shop! Direction: Luzern. With a sign, this is a great place to stand and has a nice bay for cars to pull into.―Anonymous

25 april 2015 the Swiss Hitchhikers championship was held. At leas 4 teams got stuck here, it was a cloudy day and we were going in direction of the Gotthard tunnel. We the first to leave got out of there in 2 h 30 min. We decided to take a ride to Kriens. The last team to leave waited for 5 h and 30 min. I hear this can be a pretty good spot but that day it was a trap.―Anonymous

I was dropped here by another car from Konstanz (Bodensee). The third person I asked here took me just after the swiss border, near Lugano. It was cold, rain, friday at 12:00, easter holiday.―Gustavobretz

Motorway direction Chur. It is wise to wait for someone going a longer distance since this is a big crossroads.―Anonymous

Quite busy rest area (going south) with petrol station, shop and restaurant. (Also parking and shop on the other side, northwards.) You can eiher walk around the parking talking to people directly or stand/sit here at the exit with a sign. There is nice space to stop and cars are slow.If your driver only goes to Luzern, but you are in a hurry to continue along the A2 or A8, this might be the spot to change at.
Also, there are many nice spots for a tent in the forest below.

Got here on a tuesday at about 2 pm. The gas station is off the high way close to an intersection. There are no other service areas in this area. Last one is in Affoltern. When you get of the highway the gas station on the left seems better than the one on the right (More traffic). But none the less it's a quite bad spot. Waited there for over an hour. No one was going our direction. After a while some young fella agreed to take us a bit further on our way :)

Lots of traffic. But i would recommend using a sign bc the street is going towards the highway heading north (Zürich) as well as to the highway heading south (Gotthard). Most cars going north―boom

Perfect if you want to go east (Chur, Graubünden,...). A ridiculous friendly man brought me here from Luzern center (my sign said A14 / Zug). It's right where the highway transforms into a normal road and there is also a bus stop and cars can see you well. I was dropped in Landquart (I wanted to cross the east border to Italy; my sign said "Chur").―Anonymous
