To go to ESKISEHIR: ok spot. To go to BURSA : perfect spot. Very few people were going to Eskisehir but I was blessed to have meet Yasin that was going there. Also it was 7PM on a sunday so I guess the station might be a bit busier other days―cavalierrustique

Good spot to go to Bursa. There are the cars that comes from the ferry wave by wave but none of them stopped. I was taken by one of the truck from the truck agency just after the toll station. He was going to Bursa but I was going to Eskisehir so I asked him to drop me in a gas station.―cavalierrustique

It was a Sunday so most probably that's why it took so long : every car was full ! And I did not get too much attention. I don't understand how the others "talked to truck driver" because truck drivers just go to the toll station and pass. It's not a parking or something. However a lot of cars are parked but again full most of the time. I accepted to get a ride in the other side of the ferry, was a good decision. Thanks Seyfullah!―cavalierrustique

Good spot to go East. I was offered a ride easily to Ankara but I refused because my goal was Eskisehir/Bursa. Had a lift to Gebze after 40mn to take the boat BUT most of the drivers don't go to the ferry ⛴️ so they will just let you in a random place in Gebze and you might have to walk 1 hour to go there.―cavalierrustique

-To Izmir / Ferry Eskihisar -Took the train from Istanbul to Gebze and walked up to the road. Stood just behind the entrance and directly got a ride to the ferry in Ehiskisar.
Visibility is not too good.

If you arrived here, from Istanbul, it is probably because you followed what it was told on the wiki page (Train to Gebze, 1,5TL). This is not a really good place to hh. It seems like a motorway, but it's not. Nothing is lost : I would advice to take a minibus to the O4 Motorway, about 4km away. There you will probably have more chances, as evryone going east takes this road.―Anonymous

Really good place to hitchhike to South. Just try to find a good place to stop the car. Mostly I try to stop small car, not the trucks... to be faster and it works.I've never tried going north from here. So I don't know about that.
