Had to wait a long time on the on ramp until someone stopped, but then got a ride all the way to Istanbul as well as an invitation into a restaurant.

Don't think it's because of the place in particular, but on motorway or ringroads in Turkey, people stop straight away when they see you and you go very very fast even if you change care every 5 or 10 minutes. It proved right again this time at this spot.

Not the best place to stay, eventually we got a ride of a guy that wanted to help us, but after 2 hours going around Istanbul, left us in a much worse place close to the airport. So be strict with where you want to go. Ask at least for the toll.

The pay toll was demolished and so it doesn't exist anymore. Drivers go quite fast here now.

Arrived at 21:00 HHed until 01:00 went to sleep, woke up at 8:00 HHed until around 16:00 when I hot kicked out by the police, while walking away I got offered a ride so I took it. The guy wasnt even going till the next gas station but took us all the way there despite the HIGH gas prices in turkey. Our waiting time could be a result of two males from wich one is arabic and the second one black.

Excellent spot. It took only 10 minutes for the first car to stop, which took me the first 20 kilometers. After that it's easy as always in Turkey. Just hitch right from the highway - no problem.

I wasn't lucky here. Took at least three hours till someone finally picked me up. Still I think it's a good spot.

We didn't wait more than 5 minutes here (even if it's not the best spot in my opinion, the cars drive really fast and they haven't a lot of space where stop)

Police in Turkey are getting quite strict these days but still seems ok to hitchhike here, there is a small parking area with many cars and trucks a few KM after it so just take the first car that stops to there to avoid any problems with the police.

We got two short rides from here each about 3 minutes and then had to walk around 30 minutes to the toll station. From there we waited 1 hour and the. Got to edirne. I'd recommend this way of getting out of Istanbul.
