This is the exact spot I used to get out of Istanbul towards Bulgaria, there isn’t much room to stop, but drivers merge onto the highway slowly, and theres a steady flow of cars

Really quiet place with not a lot of traffic. I think people are afraid to pick you up in direction turkey because they are afraid of the border. Got a ride to istambul at 19p.m but i was very lucky. People are rolling fast and no place to stop but i had no other choice.

Great spot to get picked up by trucks, they’re coming slowly out of a toll area so you shouldn’t have to wait too long

Deo gratias! I just used the thumb randomly and the car stopped to bring me to Istanbul! Tesekurler Ozlem and Veysel ! Ended up having dinner with them in a restaurant;)

Spot can be good to go to the Anatolian side but make sure that the people REALLY understand where you want to go. The bus and the regional train is possible to ride without a ticket to the east of Istanbul (train until Gebze)

Bad rating but I worked good for me. The last driver dropped me as most who don‘t go to Istanbul use the upper bridge. There is no way to walk (but you can switch the side via tunnel) to the metro (all fenced off, even if you are fine with hopping highways). I asked the police for a solution and they drove me. If the don‘t help you, there is no way to get out of there.

my last truck driver arranged a pickup for me. Always a possibility to ask them if they can CB radio to ask other drivers. There is enough space to stop.

Had to wait a long time on the on ramp until someone stopped, but then got a ride all the way to Istanbul as well as an invitation into a restaurant.

The pay toll was demolished and so it doesn't exist anymore. Drivers go quite fast here now.

We got two short rides from here each about 3 minutes and then had to walk around 30 minutes to the toll station. From there we waited 1 hour and the. Got to edirne. I'd recommend this way of getting out of Istanbul.

Excellent spot. It took only 10 minutes for the first car to stop, which took me the first 20 kilometers. After that it's easy as always in Turkey. Just hitch right from the highway - no problem.

Police in Turkey are getting quite strict these days but still seems ok to hitchhike here, there is a small parking area with many cars and trucks a few KM after it so just take the first car that stops to there to avoid any problems with the police.
