Easy to walk here from the city center. Enough space for cars to stop. Lot's of local traffic though. Don't wait for a long ride - take short ones until you reach the place where the highway splits to Van or Agri. That's the better place to get longer rides in my opinion.―Tomtom

The same is true for direction Agri. Busy enough road, short(ish) waiting time.―Tomtom

Most cars go toward Erzurum, but some also turn left toward Chaldiran and Van.―Anonymous

As usual: just walk to the edge of town and start hitchhiking from there. Easy.―Anonymous

Quite a busy road and nice spot if you are going to Van. You may find a direct ride.―Anonymous

April 2022. After a whole year travelling across Turkey and learning how to become a nomad while waiting for Iranian border to re-open as well as escaping pandemic, after a whole winter in Georgia. Finally i came again to Doğubeyazıt and got a relaxing ride by a truck. I was so excited and speechless that i even fell asleep on the way to Gürbülak. You have to leave the car and walk through the border, that's quicker. I found the same truck on the other side and they hosted me in Marand.Let the safest, most welcoming and freeminded population guide you across Persia!
