Not a great spot. You might want to walk a bit in the direction you want to go (West, North or South) before you start hitching. Selcuk is a small town so a 10-minute walk will get you to a safer spot out of town where there's a higher chance to be picked up.―Canaydemir

yea, for me people didn't stop in Selcuk either, because most of the traffic is touristic ones going to Sirince or Ephesus.I walked out of the town direction south and I got picked up after about a kilometer or two.

We took the ferry from Istanbul (Yenikapi) to Yalova to HH our way south. There is a big bus stop at this spot, so perfect for cars to pull over. Lots of traffic, but we (couple, late 20s) still had to wait an hour for the first car to stop. They took us all the way to Kusadasi, which is even further than we planned for the day (originally we planned to get to Izmir). PS: We used a sign saying Bursa/Izmir and we can't really tell whether it's better to have one or not―TravelLightAndHike

We took bus 729 to the last stop Atakoy from Menderes for 14 liras in 2024. Walked out to main road going to Ephesus, a car stopped soon going to Ahmet Beyli but driver was very kind and took us even closer.―JulianayJulian
