Not a good spot but works. There are plenty of buses and minibuses stopping so you have to move out and in maybe. Cars go qutie fast because the traffic lights are as far as 100 metres before and the road is big.―Anonymous

This is a good spot for hitchiking from Samsun to go to western part of Turkey. To go here, take a tram and stop at university durak, and then walk a bit.―Anonymous

Get to the bus station for free with the service buses. Then walk under the highway on the road next to this spot, and just jump the barrier to the highway and hitchhike from there. There is space for a car to pull over just before the bridge―Anonymous

Just keep walking after rhe border and find a spot with good visibility. Not that much traffic on a weekday afternoon but eventually someone will pick you up. I got very lucky with a ride all the way to Samsun. Had a sign saying "Trabzon".―VeikkaK

Okay spot but took me a while to find a ride. Continuous flow of cars and pretty fast speeds. Tried just a thumb, a sign saying "100km" and finally a sign "Merzifon". Eventually got a ride 50km onwards to a gas station.―VeikkaK
