Big parking before the entrance of the motorway, easy to stop here.

Not many places for traffic to stop along this road. You may have to walk a fair way to find a decent spot. However when you do, you should get a ride in no time.

The guy dropped me off directly just on the highway. Pedestrians arent allowed on highways in turkey, but no matter got a ride wquite fast after 10 min waiting with a sig saying 'Bafa'. Hithchiking in Turkey is really easy, most of them are really helpful and friendly. This guy even gave me 15 turkish lira to buy me some food.

Initially I was sceptical because it's on the highway but it's a very good spot with indeed a lot of parking spot. I would suggest if you are going to Izmir, try to take a direct ride, because in my case the driver left me directly on the highway near Germencik and it was very uncomfortable.
