despite looking like a decent place to get a lift from, its actually a very poor place, people don't like picking up from here. You could quite literally get stuck here for a day or two its that bad. Best advice is head back south to South Stafford J12 interchange, then ask who ever stops for you, can they take you as far as Knutsford services or further.

there is a bay where cars going to crewe or chester or even to holyhead and ireland can easily stop.

tried to get a lift onto the M6 north from here, took an hour, not very good

I ended up here multiple times while hitching to stoke-on-trent (about half an hour south on the motorway so NOT an uncommon place for drivers to pass.)
I'd always get a lift eventually but it would take ages, an hour or two, and I'm a lone young woman so most people will wait longer.

early morning was not lots of traffic and most going into birmingham which I wanted to avoid doing, got a lift to Leicester in the end, asked at the petrol station

I spent most of the two mins here in the bathroom, pure luck, this reststop is dead but a truck driver picked me up who saw me earlier and just couldn't stop before, we got a good bit east
