Nice jumping-off point for the M50 into South Wales. I stood just at the exit of the filling station, so all of the cars could see me, were moving slow and had plenty of room to pull over before hitting the motorway sliproad. Waited 10 minutes at twilight, not bad.―Raven

Hitchers are very visible and its easy for cars to stop. If you're going to Cheltenham or Gloucester, its best not to take a lift to where the route splits- its a fast, dangerous junction. Its better to wait till you can get a lift to your destination. That said, if you're destination is Cheltenham and you're offered a lift to Painswick it's possibly worth taking it.―Anonymous
