Good spot, if you don't want to ask around. The traffic is bottlenecked here because the other routes from the roundabout are still under construction. Just be aware that there are a bunch of fuckers working on the nearby construction, so if a van filled with a bunch of laughing guys in high viz stops, don't get in. They will not bring you to York, but to a nearby construction site, and you will have to walk back here.―martih

This is a massive rest stop. I can highly recommend it. But when walking around the trucks, I had no luck (it took me about 45 minutes). After that, I moved to the exit with just thumbing with a sign, and it was pretty fast all the way to Leeds.―martih

Just outside the terminal, next to the parking lot. The cars were still disembarking when I walked out. They come one by one, well spaced apart. Plenty of space for them to stop aswell.Probable even better to ask people onboard the night before, if that's your style.
