Good spot, if you don't want to ask around. The traffic is bottlenecked here because the other routes from the roundabout are still under construction. Just be aware that there are a bunch of fuckers working on the nearby construction, so if a van filled with a bunch of laughing guys in high viz stops, don't get in. They will not bring you to York, but to a nearby construction site, and you will have to walk back here.―martih

This is a massive rest stop. I can highly recommend it. But when walking around the trucks, I had no luck (it took me about 45 minutes). After that, I moved to the exit with just thumbing with a sign, and it was pretty fast all the way to Leeds.―martih

Took us a long, long time to get to Edinburgh from here, but a lot of people seem to be going to Manchester. Another upside is that you can cross the motorway from here. Also, you can easily camp just behind the bushed on the west side.―Anonymous
