I've tried this spot twice and both times been picked up in around 20-30 minutes. You have traffic coming from two directions with a good spot for them to pull in (bus stop). Lots of people heading to join the M1 going south on this road.―Anonymous

I got off at the inter-city bus station and this spot was not far away from there. I was heading to Norfolk and was probably lucky. Not an idyll spot, not much traffic in the early morning, but there's space for cars to stop up the hill.Most chances when going to the East (North or South)

The spot outside the petrol station is excellent, as cars are slow, abundant, and there is ample room to pull over.The service station offers refreshments and toilets.
