Not a prime spot. The west road going directly onto the motorway is fast with no ideal spot for a car to stop. The north road allows a car to stop though but much less traffic passing on it. My lift did come from the west road and pulled just off the road onto the grass so not entirely impossible just inconvenient.

It is best to not go too near the motorway roundabout as the road becomes more narrowed with the impossibility for a car to stop, a ride to Exeter should be easily caught

To Dartmoor National Park: It is best to stay in this very spot as the road becomes a country one lane road

Direction Cornwall: You have to stand on the Grass as there is no shoulder but the road is wide enough for a car to stop to take you; although it is actually not useful to walk that far from Plymouth to catch the same ride

getting on A38 is enormously hard. we were trying on the roundbout and at the very entrance to A38, but no success. then we moved back here and took a paper with A38 - after looooong time a car stopped and said that nobody would take us on A38 then he left us in the middle of A38...there it was even worse, because cars go very fast, so none stops

The texaco petrol station wasn't too bad, the trick is to walk around and ask people for a ride, most people who stop here will usually be heading East or West on the A38

Very good spot to go West. There is a good place for cars to stop and very good visibility.
