So I didn’t get any car but you can try to sign, they is a road with a bus stop.The gas station doesn’t have a lot of frequence and it’s moesly truck. Nobidy were going north to M6 (maybe I was unlucky).
You can come by bus from Preston center easily.

Got dropped off here begin of April. Got a ride at 6pm within 5min with my sign saying "M6 North". Waited after the petrol station. But you can even ask people at parking area.―LaZubi

Slip road to Motorway heading to M6; no place for drivers to pull over.Slow traffic can see you. Best stand on the roundabout so cars can stop at the entrance to the slip road.
