(28F) The woman in the station said it was a bit of a rough area to be asking for lifts but I found people to be very friendly even if they couldn’t take me. I eventually got someone to drop me at Washington Services as I was heading south on the A1 and assumed it would be busier and easier there which it was.―Anonymous

Take the 39 or 40 bus from Newcastle city centre to Dumpling Hall Estate, and get off at the roundabout. Walk down the sliproad to the main road. The sliproad is very long so cars already on the A69 will be able to stop.―Anonymous

This is a gas station where you could stay close to the entrance. There is a big place for cars to park. Sometimes they passes a little too fast but there are many cars passing by. The owner of the gas station told me that 2 people tried to hitchhike there. A girl asked for people and she got a ride but the guy didn't make it.―Anonymous
