Fleet Services (Direction London and
North): This is your last spot before
the M25, it is the best spot to be
before the M25

The services are a bit confusing but feasable (direction South to Winchester)

Got a ride to Wales in 20 minutes, just standing by the entrance to the roundabout after the petrol station.

I agree coming off the M3 towards is a bad idea here, although there is a train station with no barriers and is hardly ever checked. good advice if stuck is heading to sunningdale and hopping the train at a late peak time. if towards reading there are no barriers at Early station, if towards london there are barriers at Clapham junction but at peak times these are almost always open.

There's plenty of space to stop, traffic is going reasonably slow

Most of the traffic is on the further lanes and accelerating quickly, but hitching the traffic coming from nearby shops worked well eventually
