I was very lucky, I ask to the first person at the gas station and he was going north to dundee (Scotland M6)
I don’t know if it the best but it work for me. I went by bus here.

Bonega veturo kun Majstro Edd, li eĉ donis al mi 20 britajn pundojn. Dankon. Intensa tago, mi uzis parton de la kartona skatolo de la Rog Strix 15 "pligrandigita", kiun mi ĵus aĉetis uzita por 500 pundoj, kiun mi trovis la antaŭan tagon en Facebook. La plej multekosta ŝildo (Birmingham) de mia vivo kaj mi ankoraŭ ne eĉ uzis la komputilon. Mi ne havus tempon, mi devis iri al Afriko por volontuli ĉe la Monda Kongreso de Esperanto en Arusha, feliĉe la komunumo helpis min kun la bileto, mi kaptus la unuan aviadilon el Dublino post malpli ol 48 horoj. Ĝi valoris esti gajninta iom da mono en Londono dum pli ol monato.

The only wide pull-off to get down the A429 (cotswolds). Folk not as friendly as in Scotland, but you should be able to get a ride here.

Got dropped off here begin of April. Got another ride at 3pm within 5min with my sign saying "M6 North". Waited after the petrol station. But you can even ask people at parking area.
Bridge gives you even the oportunity to go to M1 if you want to hitchhike north.

I asked the people at the petrol station for a lift. The majority of them were locals. So I had to wait for 40 min until someone took me directly to Oxford.

Still a very good spot. Caught a ride to Manchester at 2am after about an hour's wait after I had already caught a ride here at 9pm -- unfortunately the truck driver gave me bad info on where he was going, fortunately he passed by here again three hours later to bring me back...

Can get here by bus. Pretty dangerous spot but only took about 20 minutes to get a lift in this specific place.

It’s a middle between people going home (not far away) and travellers. There is toilet and setting table. Bus to center oxford close (park and ride I think)
