Spot leaving the city, but nobody was stopping. (I wanted to go east) At the end I walked to the train station and took the train. There was a nice spot directly after the roundabout for people to pull over, no idea why no one did.

Quite alright for England... if you're, just for example, headed towards Maidstone/Dover/Europe from the USX, this is the place to start from.―Anonymous

A great place, cars can see you clearly and they can pull over to the bus stop.―Anonymous

A small parking lot might be one of few good places on the road to the East of centre.―Anonymous

Good spot if you want to head north towards Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks. Funnels main road traffic from Lewes and Brighton so always lots of potential people. Use the bus stop as gives people a chance to stop.―Anonymous

Good stop to catch traffic driving out towards Eastbourne and the South Coast. Stand by the roundabout, will give you the best chance for a lift.―Anonymous
